John Carlos Garcia

John was born to Carlos and Aurora Garcia. John has been a life-long resident of San Antonio.

John’s educational foundation has been well formed by his parents and attendance in the public school system. He has also attended San Antonio College and Texas A&M Kingsville System Center-San Antonio.

Growing up John was very active in community and church ministries as well as athletics. He participated in CYO programs, CCD programs, church ministries, SAPAR programs, Little League Baseball, and Boy Scouts of America. During middle school, John was also involved in Athletics and Band. He played the trumpet in the school band, at church functions and with a local youth Mariachi program.

During high school, John was the Drum Major of the Golden Husky Marching Band (Holmes-Business Careers) 1996. His musical talents, qualified him for the TMEA region band all four years of high school. He was also on the regional champion Academic Decathlon team at Holmes High school during 1996.

After high school John attended San Antonio College and worked with the Southside High School Band. John assisted the band director, John King with the school’s Marching Band Program and Brass section.

John was in The Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corp, Rockford, Il. In the summer of 1999, he participated in the DCI (Drum Corps International) World Championships.

John learned the insurance business from his father at Carlos Garcia Insurance. In 2002, he opened his own office; J Carlos Garcia Insurance. John and his fiancée, Bernadette Valdez have been running the agency ever since.

John has been involved in the AIAT (Alliance Insurance Agents of Texas).

He has held the following offices in the South Texas Chapter: Treasurer (2003) and President (2004).

John’s family values have become part of his life. He has learned the importance of giving time, money and talent to his community from his parents. John has volunteered and shared his talents with various organizations including the CYO, the church choir and the the Religious Education program.

He and his fiancée Bernadette, have two children, 5 year-old JC Garcia and new born Jade Crystal Garcia. Jade was born February 20, 2009.
